ULTRABEAM Frequently Asked Questions
-
ULTRABEAM uses blue, red, and near-infrared LEDs to provide topical heating. Its stated uses include temporary relief of minor muscle and joint pain, stiffness, and muscle spasms; muscle relaxation; and a temporary increase in local blood circulation.
-
Our team has partnered with your clinical team to try and help reduce delays in delivery, however, we are unable to provide an estimate on how long it may take for the VA to process your order.
-
Each treatment lasts ten minutes. The controller is programmed to shut off automatically when the cycle ends.
-
The manufacturer specifies a maximum of three ten-minute treatments per day—30 minutes total—and recommends a two-hour rest between sessions. Follow any more restrictive directions in your clinician's treatment plan or supplied device instructions.
-
ULTRABEAM has shoulder, neck/cervical, back, knee, and hand/wrist configurations. Use the wrap selected for your treatment area. Contact your representative if you need help identifying your equipment.
-
The manufacturer's kit description includes a larger magnetic battery/controller for home use and a smaller unit for a lower-profile setup on the go. Both combine the battery and controller in one removable component.
-
No. ULTRABEAM uses visible blue and red light plus near-infrared light, which is outside the visible spectrum. If you suspect a device fault, refer to its operating indicators and troubleshooting instructions rather than looking directly into the LEDs.
-
ULTRABEAM delivers LED light. PainShield uses ultrasound, while TENS uses electrical stimulation. Their treatment schedules and equipment instructions are different.
-
The manufacturer's contraindications include:
Light-sensitive skin, including sensitivity caused by medication.
Treatment over cancerous lesions.
Direct light exposure to the eyes.
Pregnancy, especially application over the abdomen.
Treatment over the thyroid gland.
Areas of active infection.
Review these with your clinician before treatment and read the instructions supplied with your device. For a neck/cervical wrap, confirm placement that avoids the thyroid gland.
-
ULTRABEAM's stated indications are for temporary symptom relief. The supplied literature does not establish a product-specific timeline for improvement. Discuss your response with your clinician rather than increasing use beyond the daily limit.
-
For setup and equipment questions, contact the DMG representative listed in your supplied materials. If you cannot find that information, email questions@dmg.health or use our contact form. For an existing order, email orders@dmg.health. Direct treatment and symptom questions to your clinician.
